About This Spot

Step through the doors of Southfield Grill on Jewella Avenue, and you’ll find yourself wrapped in the gentle hum of a familiar neighborhood diner where life moves at a comfortable, unhurried rhythm. It’s the kind of place that feels like a shared secret among locals—a respectful nod to home-cooked meals that nourish both body and spirit.

Here, the mood is warm and inviting, with the quiet buzz of conversation flowing naturally between the friendly faces behind the counter and the regulars settled at their usual tables. The room carries that easygoing charm of a classic American grill, but with a distinct Southern heart, where each moment feels grounded in genuine connection and the daily rhythm of the community.

The kitchen’s steady rhythm sends out the comforting aroma of hearty plates—crisply seared pork chops, tender fried catfish, or a skillet sizzling softly with fresh omelets. Whether lunch or breakfast, the offerings hold the kind of steady, reassuring flavors that remind you of a meal made with care, never rushed, and always satisfying. Portions are generous, the kind that invite lingering conversations over biscuits and gravy or a perfectly brewed cup of coffee, kept warm by servers who know your name and your usual order.

Southfield Grill is more than just a spot to eat; it’s a gathering place where time slows, and the familiar feels like a warm hug. The spirit of true hospitality permeates the air—where waitstaff greet you like old friends, making space for stories, smiles, and everyday moments that linger long after the last bite.

This is a corner of Shreveport where comfort food isn’t just a category—it’s a feeling brought to life on every plate, every visit, and every “welcome back.”

Went to Southfield Grill today to pickup my elderly neighbor a good home cooked meal. The food looked and smelled great. I will definitely be back to eat there for myself. Really great and friendly service.

Loved everything. If wasn't so cold due to being anemic, everything would've been great! Reminded me of an old-school cafe where the waitresses knew and were friendly to everybody. Awesome experience for my first time there! By the way, my fiance said the grits were, simply, marvelous! As for me, the French toast was wonderful! As of Thursday May 18, customer service and food is still immaculate! As of March 25th 2024, everything still the same. I wasn't feeling this go-round though, so we had to leave suddenly. The waitress showed much empathy which was very nice. By the way, the chicken and dumplings and corn tasted pretty dang good. I was surprised.

My go-to diner to get an early breakfast when I’m in town on business. Charlie (host and waitress) is always smiling and keeps the coffee mug full.

This was the best food experience I’ve had ever, that compares to home cooked meal. I had no complaints with the overall service. If you in the Bossier City area, this is the place for a home cooked breakfast or lunch…

Great hospitality. When I walked in I was greeted by the customers and staff which is different. My waitress was very helpful. Very nice. Very attentive. She knew everyone's name and made me feel comfortable like I was part of the group. The food was delicious. The portion sizes was large. I will definitely be returning with my family!!
